The folk duo Cypress Dreams will perform Friday, March 23, at the Smokestack, 7^th and White St, Dubuque, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Cypress Dreams is the duo of singer/songwriter Shōjin Alford and violinist Erik Leveille (of the Dubuque Symphony). Their repertoire ranges from Shōjn’s soulful and moving originals to Celtic, Scandinavian, and Quebecois fiddle tunes with covers including Gillian Welch, Keb Mo, Elvis, and REM. Their classical and folk backgrounds blend in a uniquely engaging style. Both Erik and Shōjin are members of the Fox Valley UU Fellowship in Appleton, WI.
