· Deep Time and the Tree of Life – Monday, February 17, 7:00pm. UU Fellowship of Dubuque. Celebrate Charles Darwin at the monthly meeting of the Dubuque Humanists. Ryan J. Haasl, PhD, Associate Professor, Biology, UW-Platteville will be talking about current geological evidence that supports an Earth that is roughly 4.5 billion years old. This contrasts dramatically with non-scientific estimates of the Earth’s age at only several thousand years old. The discovery of Deep Time offered critical support for Darwin’s idea of natural selection as a principal driver of biological evolution.
